April 20

Spring Art Walk - Thursday, April 20th from 5 - 7 pm.  Falls City High School and Falls City Sacred Heart High School Art Department - by making a donation to the high school art departments, you will be supporting our young and very talented local artists.  Visit our three downtown galleries, view student art works from both high schools, and enjoy refreshments and wonderful shopping along Stone Street.  Hope to see you there.  Sponsored by Christina's Art Gallery, Stalder Gallery and the Falter Museum.

April 21 & 22

Falls City Bi-Annual Community Clean Up located at Hamilton Recycling & Disposal.  6th & Stone Street, April 21 - 5pm - 7pm, April 22 - 9am - 1 pm.  Accepting large & bulky trash, metals and recyclables.  Items such as appliances, tv's monitors, old furniture, couches, metals, grills, wood, siding, junk - NO PERSONAL HOUSEHOLD ITEMS.  There is a fee for tires.  Free paper shredding  - sponsored by Thrivent Financial, Frontier Bank and F&M Bank.  For more information call 402-801-8169.

April 22

Be a HERO, SAVE the EARTH - 1 Mile Fun Walk/Run - 5K Walk/Run - Saturday, April 22.  Stanton Lake - $10 Registration Fee.  Start time:  9 am 5K Walk/Run, 9:15 am - 1 Mile Fun Walk/Run.  Start and finish at Stanton Lake.  *all children 12 & under must be accompanied with a parent/guardian.  For addition information contact Linda at Community Medical Center in Falls City - 402-245-6704 or email  Sponsored by Community Medical Center Falls City.

April 26

Safe Drivers Seminar on Wednesday, April 26 at the Community Medical Center Education Room.  9 am - 2pm with lunch provided.  Nominal fee:  AARP Member $15, non-members $20.  Fee half price for the first ten signed up.  Door prizes.  You may also be eligible for a multi -year auto insurance discount after taking this course.  Contact:  Linda Santo at Community Medical Center - 402-245-6704.

Humboldt Community Thrift Store

Humboldt Community Thrift Store is located at 701 4th St in Humboldt.  Open:  Monday 4 - 7 pm,. Friday, 9- 3 pm, Saturday 9 - noon.  Sponsored by the Humboldt Lions Club.  For more information call 402-862-2330.

Compassionate Friends

Compassionate Friends welcomes the Southeast Nebraska Chapter # 2460.  When a child dies, at any age, the family suffers intense pain and may feel hopeless and isolated.  They will hold a meeting on the second Monday of each month  at the Falls City Library at 6:30 pm.   TCF provides highly personal comfort, hope and support to every family.  The Southeast Nebraska Chapter will help us toward that mission.  For more information about the local chapter meetings or make a donation call Sally Merz at 402-245-0650.

Family Night at the Library

Inviting families to join us on Thursday evenings for some old-fashioned fun.  Activity stations for stories, games, projects, adventure and some surprises.  .

Clothing Closet

First and third Tuesday of each month from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the First Brethren Church, 1902 Lane St. Clothing only, no misc items. Everything is free to anyone who comes in. Donations will be taken on Tuesdays as well.
