October 12

An Evening of Art on Friday, October 12th from 5 - 8 pm. at Stella Arboretum & Greenhouse - located at the end of North Main Street.  Open to public - refreshments in Stella.  Featuring area artists.  Hosted by the Stella Garden Club and the Stella Research Club.

October 13

American Legion Auxiliary Shubert Unit #222 will be hosting a Potato Bake on Saturday, October 13 - serving starting at 5:00 pm located at Shubert Legion Building.  All proceeds used for local veterans.

Help Sacred Heart School earn $3000.  This Saturday, October 13, Sacred Heart School and Armbruster Motor Co. will be hosting a CARS4 Classrooms Test-Drive Fundraiser.  This will take place at the school parking lot from 8:00AM-Noon.  Participants must drive or ride in a new Chrysler.  We need at least 150 drivers/riders to earn the $3000.  Participants must be 18 years or older and present a valid driver’s license.  Please help us reach our goal of 150 test-drives.  At the event: fill out the form, take the test drive, complete a brief survey and you’ll help Sacred Heart School earn $3000.

October 14

Sunday Fun Day in downtown Falls City, NE.  Sunday, October 14th - specials store hours Noon to 4pm.  Discounts, giveaways & snacks.  Vote for your favorite scarecrow.  Participating Stores:  Browns Shoe Fit, Heritage Falls Candles, Gatherings Market, Memory Lane, Jaded & Co., Hometown Floral & gifts, Miava Boutique, Chaney Furniture Co., The Art Gallery, & True Value Hardware.

October 19 & 20

Falls City Bi-Annual Community Clean Up located at Hamilton Recycling & Disposal - 6th & Stone Street.  October 19th:  5 pm - 7 pm, October 20th:  9am - 12pm.  Accepting large & bulky trash, metals, and recyclables.  Items such as Appliances, Tv's & Monitors, old furniture, couches, metals, grills, wood, siding, junk ect.  NO PERSONAL HOUSEHOLD TRASH!  There is a fee for tires.  Need help moving heavy items or hauling junk off?  call 402-801-2241 or 402-801-8169 to set up an appointment.  Fees range from $10 - $20, based on items.

October 20

The 3rd Annual "Pink Pumpkin Walk" will be held on October 20th at 11:00 am.  Help us support October as being "Breast Cancer Awareness Month".  This walk is for all cancer survivors and in memory of loved ones.  Pre-register by October 6th.  $25 registration fee includes t-shirt.  Youth registration is $10.  Contact information to register for the walk and to purchase a memorial pumpkin, LeaAnn Allen at 402-824-5205.  Indian Cave State Park, 65296 720 Rd. Shubert, NE  402-883-2575.  A park entry permit is required.

October 21

12th Annual Youth Dodgeball Tournament on Sunday, October 21st.  Double Elimination Competition begins at 1:30 pm.  Pre-registration is due by Wed., Oct. 17th.  Pick up forms at SNC - 110 W. 17th St. in Falls City.  Join us for a cookout that day beginning at 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.  Serving hot dogs, polish dogs, chili dogs, cheese dogs, baked beans, chips, homemade desserts and drink.  $5.00 donation to the Falls City Backpack Program.  Open to the Public.  Please come to support the Backpack Program.

November 3

27th Annual Lord's Acre Sale at First United Methodist Church - Falls City.  Soup Supper ~ serving from 5:00 - 6:30 pm.  Corn Chowder, Ham & Bean, Chili & Chicken Noodle, cornbread, relish, pies & cakes.  Freewill offering.  Carry-out is available.  Delivery available  - please call 402-245-3281.  Some craft & food items for sale before soup supper.  Auction to start at 6:30 pm.  Quilts homemade baked goods, canned foods, jellies, craft items, needlework and more.

November 4

Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Turkey Dinner & Bazaar.  Sunday, November 4th at Prichard Auditorium.  Booths open at 3:00 pm.  Dinner served from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  Carryout dinners available.  Adults $10 - children $5, additional $1 for each carryout item.  Purchase Turkey Bazaar Raffle items.  Homemade quilts, script cards.  Tickets may also be purchased at Brown's Shoe Fit and Southeast Nebraska Communications.

Richardson County Museum

Richardson County Museum - 1401 Chase St.  Falls City.  Museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.  Tours can be scheduled by appointment. New artifacts received from a distance as well as local treasures.

Breastfeeding Support Group

Free - weekly on Wednesdays - 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Community Medical Center.  For more information please contact Sara Rue RN, CBE at 402-245-6571

Humboldt Community Thrift Store

Humboldt Community Thrift Store is located at 701 4th St in Humboldt.  Open:  Monday 4 - 7 pm,. Friday, 9- 3 pm, Saturday 9 - noon.  Sponsored by the Humboldt Lions Club.  For more information call 402-862-2330.

Family Night at the Library

Inviting families to join us on Thursday evenings for some old-fashioned fun.  Activity stations for stories, games, projects, adventure and some surprises.  .

Clothing Closet

First and third Tuesday of each month from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the First Brethren Church, 1902 Lane St. Clothing only, no misc items. Everything is free to anyone who comes in. Donations will be taken on Tuesdays as well.
